Hikes and Walks

Enjoy the pleasures of a long stroll or of a more sportive hike. Whether by bike, horse, boat or simply walking, the Mayenne has everything to seduce you.

There are approximately 3800 km of marked footpaths in the county. The local passion for walking with family or friends as a main past time explains this figure : almost all county villages have an association which not only prepares and organises hikes for their community, but maintains the different paths too.

Accessible to all people, itineraries will prove to be excellent grounds for discovering Mayennes’ landscapes but also perfect for meeting local people.

The team at the Mill have prepared several routes and we can provide you with guides and maps to explore the Mayenne farmlands and its many country roads. You and your children can safely walk on the towpath’s green roads along the Mayenne river (2km from our mill) or the old Laval-Renazé railway accessible from Montigné le Brillant (4km away).

Cycle touring amateurs can enjoy the country roads that wind through the verdant and hilly landscape (routes available).

Located in Laval in the Boston Square 5mn from the historical centre, the Halte Fluviale offers licence-free rental of motorboats, canoes, pedal boats, water bikes to discover the Mayenne river which is the backbone of our county.
